Sprint 10mm Ropes

In the same way as its baby brother has become the advanced tool for traditional climbing, the 10mm rope has evolved into the Sports climbers ubiquitous performance diameter; thin enough to clip easily and not too heavy for long pitches, whilst thick enough for longevity and security. There are thinner single ropes available in this category but for our first range we really wanted to make a statement with the Sprint 10mm, by laying down a quality standard in this most purchased and most competitive category and creating a rope with a great balance of handling feel and performance.

Sprint 10mm Super Dry
Features: BCC, DCC, SD, MM
This is a superb rope. Aimed mainly at sports climbers, it passed all the tests our athletes put it through with flying colours, taking extended ‘dogging’ sessions in its stride and having a good feel for the redpoint. It is also tough and useful enough to be the next choice for those who have started out with the heavier 10.5mm but who find they need a more subtle rope for their single rope leading or indoor wall activities. The double dry treatment of core and outer means it will withstand extremes well and adds to the general longevity of the ropes by protecting the fibres with its coating.

Like the thinner 8.4mm Sprint, the sheath is braided with finer fibres in a smoother pattern to give a smooth handling unit and one which will flow easily through belay devices – essential for those quick pay-outs on redpoint. Although only available in the Henry Ford choice of colour of ‘any, as long as it’s black’, this rope is available in 50m 60m and 70m lengths. This is certainly needed, given the variety of uses it could be put to and the modern trend for extended pitches. This is particularly true on the continent, where we all seem to fly for our sporting pleasure nowadays….
